I'm back after an amazing weekend away with the GF. We went to Koh Chang which is an island on the way to Cambodia from Bangkok, in Trat province. We drove down in my Jazz, which was a little daunting at first, because the trip is over 300km each way, but it wasn't that bad in the end and I quite enjoyed driving back in the dark.

We stayed at the Amari Emerald Cove, which is on the western side of the island. The resort has nice grounds with a little beach and tall coconut trees dotted about the place. Between the main buildings, there are walk raised wooden walk-ways that were lit with deep orange lamps at night. In the middle of the resort is probably the best swimming pool I've seen and used. The room we had was quite nice, but the best part had to be the bathroom.

The resort had everingthing, and seeing as the meals were included in the package, we only left once during our stay there. We did get to see some of the sights on the last day, just before we left the island; we went to see a big waterfall, which we had to trek a bit to get to. Well worth it in the end.
